Nuggets Fans Broke Out A "Who's Your Daddy" Chant To Cap Off Another Lakers Ass Kicking
The last time we saw the Nuggets face off against the Lakers, we were treated to four very entertaining games in the Western Conference Finals. Unfortunately for the Lakers, they were not able to win a single one of those four games. Tough to win a series without securing a single win, and before you knew it the sweep was done and the Nuggets were well on their way to winning the title.
If there's one thing I'd say we need more of in the NBA, it's some good old fashioned bad blood between two teams. Give me a classic basketball rivalry where both teams are good, there's a clear distaste for one another whenever they play, and there's shit being talked by both sides. You usually need to have some postseason history in order to form a level of hatred like that, and luckily that's exactly what we have between these two.
So after the Nuggets won the title and talked their shit, the Lakers spent all offseason crying about it. Darvin Ham, LeBron, Anthony Davis, they all couldn't stop talking about the Nuggets and what was coming the next time they played
Well tonight was that night and uhh…the result? Not great for the Lakers!
There's certainly no shame in losing to Denver on their home floor, this is a team that went 34-7 at home last year during the regular season and then another 10-1 during their title run. So even though it's probably not the best look that you talked all that shit about what was coming only to get down by as much as 18 and end up losing by double figures while Nikola Jokic once again has his complete way with you
But you know what? That's not even the worst part. Plenty of teams are going to get destroyed by Jokic this season. The worst part of course came in the final minutes
Oh man. That's tough. Not the who's your Daddy chant after ya know…
And hey, it is true the Nuggets have owned the Lakers as of late. After tonight, this was now the 6th straight win the Nuggets have had against LA in their last 6 meetings. It's been a massacre. Did I ever think we'd live in a world where the Denver Nuggets would be able to call themselves the Lakers Daddy? Nope. But that's the beauty of NBA basketball.
Of course, I fully support this Lakers hatred by Nuggets fans. I know the feeling. It's great to have another partner in crime when it comes to Lakers hatred, I'm glad to have them by my and my fellow Celts fans' side.
