The Coincidences And Connections Between The 2001 Diamondbacks And The 2023 Diamondbacks Are Scary

The amount of connections between the 2001 Diamondbacks and 2023 Diamondbacks is actually insane. It's like it was written in the stars that this team was supposed to win a World Series. I don't know how else to explain it, it's just wild.

We all remember Randy Johnson in 2001 killing that dove during a Spring Training game. Throws a pitch and POOF. That bird is gone.

Then earlier this year Zac Gallen was throwing in the outfield and what did he do? Hit and killed a bird.

Maybe each team should just sacrifice a bird before each season to help bring some good luck? Want to take it one step further? Both birds were killed against Bay Area teams. In 2001 it was against the Giants and in 2023 it was against the Athletics. Goosebumps right?

Now on it's own, that's just a crazy bad break for a couple of birds getting murdered by the ace of the NL pennant winner. But everything goes deeper than that. In 2001 the dates of the World Series between the Diamondbacks and the Yankees were October 27th, 28th, 30th, 31st, November 1st, 3rd, and 4th. What are the dates for this year's World Series????? You guessed it. October 27th, 28th, 30th, 31st, November 1st, 3rd, and 4th. You could say that this is just how calendars work but the the World Series usually would've been wrapped up by November back in the early 2000s, but the 9/11 attacks bumped the entire MLB schedule back. Now there is an entire extra Wild Card round that results in the Fall Classic being scheduled through Halloween every year.

Moving along, do you know where was the MLB All-Star Game in 2001? In Seattle where we saw Cal Ripken Jr. rip that home run in his last All-Star Game ever. So where was the mid-summer classic this year? Yup, you nailed it. Seattle. Too many things lining up in Arizona's favor. Forget the teams on paper, forget scouting reports, Arizona has all of the luck and fate on their side.

Oh, and who is throwing out the first pitch during this series? George Bush. Guess who you may remember throwing out a first pitch in 2001? Yup. Dubya.

Too many coincidences, it's creepy how many connections there are to the 2001 Arizona Diamondbacks team. I hope that means we get a series as good as 2001. The Snakes are not only alive but they seem to have destiny on their side as well.
