Nobody Has Ever Been More Wrong In Their Life Than Any Bozo Who Said Jalen Hurts Is "Regressing" This Year

We're now 8 full weeks into the NFL season, and the talk around the league for 7 of those weeks has been Jalen Hurts "taking a step back" this year. Week after week after week, everybody just wanted to talk about how Jalen Hurts doesn't belong in that conversation of top tier quarterbacks in the league. It doesn't matter that all this dude does is win. It doesn't matter that he just had his 6th straight week of putting up over 300 total yards in a game.

I know we live in an era of cherry picked stats, but it's hard to argue with the company Jalen finds himself in with that one.

He's had a few bad fumbles and has made a couple bad decisions throwing the ball, and that's all anyone cared to talk about. And it's not just a "Philly vs the World" type of situation here. There are plenty of dumbasses within the city limits who were leading the charge on the Jalen Hurts Is Regressing train. You couldn't listen to sports talk radio in this town for any longer than 4 minutes without a caller complaining about that contract.

Yesterday's win in that dog shit stadium they have in Landover, MD is the exact reason why you pay Jalen Hurts to be the future of your franchise.

4 touchdown passes to 3 different receivers. Granted, all 3 of those receivers are as good as they come. He got a little help from a preposterous one-handed grab from AJ Brown, and a little help from Washington completely forgetting to cover DeVonta Smith. But the Eagles looked like complete shit through the first 29 minutes of that game yesterday. They fumbled twice inside the 5-yard line and pissed away 14 points on the road. Jalen Hurts is clearly banged up a little bit and can't be nearly as explosive as a runner as he was last season. Everything was stacked up against Eagles, and 90% of teams lose that game. But when Jalen Hurts is your quarterback, you're never out of a game.

I'm sorry but I thought this man was regressing?

People just seemed way too quick to say that Jalen Hurts "only had one good year" like so many other quarterbacks who have been a flash in the pan before him. So quick to say it was only one great year and now he's regressed back to the mean. You'd think the possibility of having just "one good year" would lend itself to the possibility that Jalen Hurts could have actually just had a few bad games to start the season. Seems to me like it would be much easier to have a few bad games than one truly great year. Playing poorly for 2-3 games is so much easier than playing lights out for 16. But that's not the way it works when you're dealing with narratives, I suppose.

Either way, the Philadelphia Eagles are 7-1 and there's no such thing as an easy schedule in the NFL this year. The Chiefs lost to the Broncos and only put up 9 points. The media's MVP in Brock Purdy and the unstoppable San Francisco 49ers just lost their 3rd game in a row. Obviously it's a tougher stretch coming up here for the Eagles, but the Eagles currently have the best record in football right now for a reason. And that reason is because #1 is addicted to finding ways to make it happen.
