A Masterclass On How To Handle A Loss - Botafogo's American Owner Went On TV Demanding The League President Quit Because It's 'Fucking Corrupt'
I think I love this guy. I mean you can handle blowing a 3 goal lead plenty of different ways. John Textor handles it by screaming about fucking corruption and demanding the commissioner and refs quit on the spot. That's the way to do it. No shit there's probably corruption, you're talking about Brazilian soccer. What makes it even funnier is Botafogo is leading the league! They are 3 points up with a match in hand still. Not a bad spot to be, which makes it even funnier that he's screaming about corruption.
This is the red card in question:
Yeah that's not a red. He gets the ball first. You want to go yellow? Fine. I'll listen to people who say that's the call there. But that ain't a red. Ultimately that led to the blown lead and the incredible rant. I know the corruption is what people hear and run with, but the funniest line by far is Textor saying 'this is my stadium.' Ultimate power move statement to say he'll still be right here because the owns the fucking place.
This is what I'd want from an owner though. No playing it down the middle. No saying we should have won and ended up losing. I want direct blame on the ref, commissioner, everyone else. Scream about how you get fucked. Scream about how you're sick and tired of it. He clearly has ton of money, so who gives a shit about a fine? Speak like a fan and immediately blame the refs. That's what we all do anyways.
PS: The whole world saw it? Ehh, I don't know about that.
