Some Knockouts Feel Way More Disrespectful Than Others

I've watched thousands of MMA fights in my life, and I'm pretty sure I've seen the most brutal/vicious knockouts the sport has to offer; but every now and then, I watch a finish that seems to sting a little more than usual. 

Sometimes that's because of pre-fight beef, like when Dan Henderson flattened Michael Bisping with his infamous "H-BOMB" at UFC 100....

....or Jorge Masvidal's "super necessary" follow-up shots on Ben Askren after landing the biggest flying knee in UFC history....

….but sometimes, a punch or knockout feels more disrespectful than usual for no explainable reason. 

I'd argue Artem Lobov's standing hammerfist is one of those punches….

You get hit with one of those, it's gonna piss you off to the high heavens. It's such a ridiculous punch that doesn't even look that effective, but it'll leave you wondering how you didn't block it and why he threw it all at once. It's the smelling salts of punches.

Nate Diaz's 'Stockton Slap' would qualify, but it's pretty easy to explain why that's disrespectful….

I mean, it's usually followed up by Nate pointing and laughing like Nelson from The Simpsons….

Jeka Saragih just landed one of those unexplainably disrespectful punches to finish off Lucas Alexander at the UFC Apex, though - when he knocked him out, landed three back-to-back ground and pound shots, and then capped it off with a BACKFIST!

(He actually landed this backfist)

It reminded me a bit of the most disrespectful backhand of all time, which came pre-licked like an envelope….

Again - I can't explain why that feels way more disrespectful than a pre-licked open hand slap would've….but it definitely does. That's why some knockouts are simply more disrespectful than others.
