Whoops: Michigan State's AJ Hoggard Blasted The Media For Writing Him Off Before The Season, Benched 7 Games In

This was before the season at Big 10 Media Day. Michigan State's AJ Hoggard going on this mini rant about how everyone is writing him off, he wanted to be called one of the best guards in the league and the country. Hey, I get it. You want some self-confidence. You want to prove the haters wrong. But let's look at last night, game 7 of the season:

Whoops! I guess that's how you prove a point. You keep a chip on your shoulder by hitting the pine. I mean something had to be done. Michigan State was 3-3 coming into the game last night. They lost every big game and even a home game to James Madison. You can't really talk shit when you're only win is over Butler. Now it's not all Hoggard's fault. Izzo couldn't figure out how to play the freshmen early enough, Hall/Sissoko/Cooper have all been whatever at best combined, Akins hasn't taken the jump so many thought. Oh and Michigan State just can't shoot the ball. They are shooting 27% from three on the season. That's almost impossible for a major conference team to do.

I don't know if Hoggard is going to be coming off the bench the rest of the season, Izzo will probably tinker with the lineups all year. What I do know is you can't talk about how you have this chip on your shoulder, you keep notes and get pissed that everyone writes you off before getting benched 7 games in. Tough look.
