Some Nut Job Really Gave J.J. McCarthy a First Place Heisman Vote

I'm sorry, can we zoom in on that a little bit?

No, your eyes are not deceiving you. That No. 1 you see next to J.J. McCarthy's name is a first place vote for the Heisman Trophy. Like, the actual award.

It should be mandatory that votes for anything in sports are all made public after the fact because we have to know who did this. Show your face.

I honestly just want to hear the justification. Maybe this voter has cracked the code on some new system that has the guy who combined for 355 yards and one touchdown in his three games against Top 25 teams this season as the best player in the country. A quarterback so game-changing his coaches let him throw the ball a whole eight times against Penn State. When we talked about the elite of the elite this season, that conversation was not had by any individual without mentioning McCarthy.

Does Desmond Howard have a vote? If so, he definitely accounts for either the McCarthy first place vote or one of Blake Corum's three, but he's definitely enough of a Michigan zealot to be the McCarthy whack job. I'm bringing back McCarthyism, except instead of hunting down Communists, we're hunting down this Heisman voter.

I guess nothing should surprise me after Stetson Bennett was a Heisman finalist over Hendon Hooker, but I must say I was still taken aback at this ballot. Hopefully this person has the balls to take ownership of their vote so we can publicly ridicule them.
