Texas State Fans Rushing The Field And Drinking SMU's Stadium Completely Out Of Beer Is How Every Bowl Game Should Be Celebrated
I know bowl games have lost its luster. People are sitting out, it feels like a loser spot if you don't make the playoffs. But, I'm here to lead a charge that bowl games still matter. Obviously a team like Georgia not making the playoffs is different than Texas State and maybe I'm just being nostalgic. But I miss the days where every bowl game felt like it mattered. Maybe it was hitting a certain win total or just your first bowl game, but this is how it should be.
I know the whole Shaq meme saying he wasn't familiar with your game is overplayed, but it works here. I didn't know Texas State fans had LSU in them. I didn't know they'd destroy an entire stadium's alcohol with ease before the 3rd quarter ended. I've never seen a bigger mismatch of Texas State vs Rice fans arguably ever in this side of the game. Job well done all around.
I still don't know how you run out of alcohol. It's a stadium! There should be an endless supply here. But this is about Texas State. I don't want to talk shit, I want to celebrate going nuts for a First Responders Bowl. Why not? It's their first bowl win. That matters! They should be partying like when a team wins a national title. That's how bowls used to be. The look of the empty beer fridge is great too. They should hang that next to First Responders Bowl banner.
So credit to Texas State. They put on an incredible display of treating a bowl game like it matters.
