I Am Half Happy Half Horrified That A Baby Was Named Rico Ryder In Carbondale, IL

WPSD Local - PADUCAH — New years always bring new life. Here are some of the details about the first babies born in 2024.

Rico Ryder was born at SIH Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois at 2:08 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 1. He was seven pounds and three ounces, and his mother’s name is Brianna Nunley.

Got sent this today and I genuinely mean this ... I am half thrilled and half horrified by this. Now I must say before I even get ahead of myself, we have no idea if this mother and father are even fans of mine. I will not be that guy who thinks he's bigger than he is, and immediately assuming a child is named after you is 100% getting a big head. Also, there's a very real possibility this is a work.

Ryders, and more so Stoolies have always been some of the most clever people on the internet so there's a real good chance that someone planned this. It's also a very easy way to navigate this. Think about this, would a news station require a birth certificate ? Have we seen a birth certificate, will we ever? When the news station took the call you think they grilled the Mom or Dad calling in about the name? Or just simple said "oh that's a lovely name." It's a very easy way to manipulate the announcement. So my assumption is this is a work, and the child is not actually named Rico Ryder.

Now, if it is in fact real we have two things to discuss, and two major feelings. The first is to be honored someone named their son after you your internet alias. Our fans are the best out there, and every time I'm out in public or at an event everyone of them has been kind and positive. The fans are the best. Someone being such a big fan that they name their son after you your internet alias is an honor and I'm glad people care so much about my content.

On the other hand, I am part horrified. There's a fine line between fan and fanatic, and I think we're toeing it here. Just imagine in 7-8 years the little guy is asking who they were named after and their dad says "well in 2015 this guy turned me onto San Diego State and we made a boatload of money." Or worse when you tell your family you had the baby and your Grandmother is approaching 100 and hoping you gave the little guy a wonderful family name only to find out the video of stepping out on the circle on Surviving Barstool. Batshit stuff. But hey I'm a batshit crazy type of guy so I guess it's fitting.

Lots of health and happiness to the little guy and the family. I look forward to in a year or two meeting his brother Frank The Tank.
