Tom Izzo Is Now Spiraling After Losses - This Time Ranting About 'Not Being Able To Blame Players' And How He'll Probably Get Sued

What we're seeing here is a Hall of Fame coach losing his mind. Actually he's not even losing his mind, he's just spiraling. He doesn't know how to handle losing to Northwestern by 14. So he does what any old person would do. Blame the generation. There's nothing older people love to do than just randomly scream about how you can't blame kids these days or how they aren't tough to handle criticism.

Just to clarify we are still talking about major college basketball here. Last time I checked, everyone is willing to say players fuck up. Everyone in the college basketball world I follow was talking about how Malik Hall was awful. 26 minutes, 0 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assists. Pretty impressive honestly.

I'll be honest. I'm over the whole participation trophy screaming. I don't know one person my age or a little bit younger than me who was pumped to finish 5th place and get a trophy too. A snow cone from the snack bar? Sure. Those things were fucking awesome. Maybe a trip to get some pizza after a tournament? Who the hell doesn't like pizza? But a trophy? For sure not. I'm 36 years old and can't recall one time as a kid that we didn't win and were like hey guys! Great job all around! Here's a ribbon or some shit.

That's before we get to the whole analytics thing. Old school coaches DESPISE the word analytics. It's how we feel about participation trophy honestly. Izzo goes on about how you can't see a guys heart or his eyes because of analytics. Uh no shit. Analytics say what happen, you know, in the game? The whole men lie, women lie, numbers never lie thing. Yeah that's analytics. It just shows you what the hell happened in number form. It doesn't gauge hustle, hardwork or whatever the else Fort Minor sings about that coaches love to scream about.

And, no, Tom Izzo. You're not getting sued. You don't need to scream about how tough your practice is going to be and then say you're going to get sued. It's college basketball. We know. We know you do football drills. We know you have physical practices after a loss. We all laugh about it and commentators bring it up every game. Nothing is changing.

Just goes to show you that no matter how much Chris Collins wins at Northwestern, this is what happens when you lose to them. You spiral.
