The Cast Of 'It's Always Sunny' Presented At The Emmys For The First Time Ever, Correctly Made Fun Of The Fact It Was Never Nominated For An Award

I'm not going to sit here and act like some sort of expert when it comes to TV shows and the award circuit. But it's fucking insane that It's Always Sunny has never been nominated for an award. It has a run of being the funniest show on television for multiple years. I still enjoy it. I know some people complain that it jumped the shark or lost its luster, to which I say

I do enjoy how they basically slipped into their characters for the presentation bit too. The shock that Danny DeVito won an award for Taxi and the confusion. It’s Always Sunny is one of the staples of the majority of bloggers here and readers. We talk about episodes, lines, characters, etc all the time. That’s what happens when you have one of the greatest comedies of all time happening right this moment. The fact it was never even nominated for an award is batshit crazy.

Hey, at least they got to present though! Even better Rob McElhenney had himself a great night.

Looks like every guy sitting at a wedding during college football Saturday. Don't lie, you've done it. You've sat in the back of the church with the game on the phone on silent just watching some of it until you know you have to look up. Wasn't all bad for Rob though:

But this is about It's Always Sunny as a whole. Step 1 was getting to the Emmys after 16 years. Step 2 is being nominated and step 3 is finally winning something. I do love that they addressed this a long time ago too. All the way back in season 9 - The Gang Desperately Tries to Win an Award. This is why the show is the best. They can make a joke about anything. They address all the issues that are shoved down our throats every year.

I know, I know. The shows on the big channels are always winners here. But to never be nominated? Fucking insane. The show is as good as it gets and it's not even a longevity thing at this point. At its peak there was nothing funnier on TV. I still think it's hilarious and watch weekly when it's on.

Give them an award. That or let them on stage every year at least.
