Adrián Beltré Said He Almost Blocked His Wife's Number Because She Wouldn't Stop Updating Him On His Hall Of Fame Vote Percentage
Wow, superstars really are just like the rest of us, they get annoyed with constant notifications in group chats. Adrián Beltré was telling stories about his time leading up to finding out that he made the Hall Of Fame and told reporters that he almost blocked his wife and sons number because they made a group chat to update Papa Beltré on his HOF voting percentage. Have to respect the guys decision, he knew he'd get in. He didn't need constant updates from his son and wife, he wanted to find out the old fashion way, the phone call.
"Even though I didn't want the updates, my wife created a family chat [thread] for that — 'We're at 75% today ... We're at 80% — I was about to block her from my cell phone, but she's lucky I love her so much."
Nothing worse than an over texter in a group chat. The person who spams it with 43 texts and just bogs the whole thing down. I know those people are the worst because I am one. Bigggg chat bogger downer over here. Beltré didn't want to deal with numbers or votes and only admitted he almost blocked his wife's number. Hilarious stuff here. It was her job to invite people over for the official announcement and order the food for the party so she had to keep an eye on the HOF tracker and see how close he was to the 75%, she had a good reason to pay attention. He just wanted nothing to do with it.
Wonder if he knows he could have just left the chat too? He could have just hopped right out and let his wife keep chatting about the voting %, would have saved him the headaches. You could tell he was pretty lackadaisical about the whole HOF voting, he even let the phone ring several times and joked about letting it go to voicemail. This isn't a guy who wanted minute by minute updates, he probably just wanted to be woken up Wednesday morning and then have someone tell him that he made the Hall so he could roll over and go back to bed. Guy just didn't want to be bothered with this and I respect the hell out of that.
