Franchise Player: Knicks Fans Chanting 'MVP' Nearly Brought Jalen Brunson To Tears, Proving He's The Super Star We've Dreamt Of For Decades

Forget New York, there's not a basketball player in the world currently more beloved by their fans than Jalen Brunson. Who else is crying on the floor at MSG when he realizes he's the player we've waited decades for. I'm not even being hyperbolic. He's a superstar, he should be in MVP talk, it's a crime he's not starting in the All-Star Game. He's doing it with his best friends in the biggest city in the world and more importantly he's winning.

Say what you want about the Knicks, this ain't the same old Knicks. This isn't oh let's see what happens as the year goes on. This is year 2 of them just winning. This is a year where we start dreaming. And it's all because of a man who was born to play basketball.

The Knicks went after all the names since those days of Ewing and Mason and Oakley and Starks. There was Allan Houston and Sprewell. Both damn good. There was Carmelo Anthony, another damn good player, who never really felt like the guy who could win for you though. There was Amar'e. There was Steve Francis, Tracy McGrady and every other free agency/trade move that was supposed to be the guy. None of them felt like Jalen Brunson. The young guy in his prime who can keep the Knicks relevant year after year.

And to think there were morons, idiots, dummies who screamed the Knicks overpaid Jalen Brunson for a $104 million deal. He's the most underpaid man in America. He's saved a franchise. He's still in his prime and is out here winning games without Randle or OG in a game like that.

We've waited decades for this. Scream MVP as loud as you can. A guy who gets it, a guy who deserves every bit of it. He's saved the franchise.
