Battle Through Adversity: FDU's Game Was Delayed Because Players Were Trapped In The Elevator Coming To The Court From The Locker Room
This right here is all I need whenever I tell myself that there are too many Division I basketball teams. Why? Because dumb shit happens at mid-major/low-major level. Granted, FDU shouldn't be talked like that since, you know, the whole Purdue thing. But this happened at LIU. This is why we need low-major basketball. This and a team that we all fall in love with when they are a 16 seed beating a 1. Again, sorry about that, Purdue, but it happens. Trust me, it happens when America turns on your team.
The real story though? I sniff another challenge. What's the record for longest amount of time people were stuck in an elevator? I'm just spitballing here but put a couple cameras in there, establish a pee corner and let's see the powder keg explode. #DKPartner
I'm sure it's been talked about numerous times, but being stuck on an elevator has to be the 2nd worst 'normal' occurrence. Still think being stuck on a roller coaster of some sort is the worst. You throw in heights plus everything else and a common story blogged becomes number 1 fear.
I do love little quirks like this though. I see people just saying 'why not have the locker room and court on the same level?' Fair question, my response is simple. Home court advantage. It's like when you were growing up and there was always that one gym that you couldn't shoot corner threes from. There was likely an indoor track hanging too far above or something in the way. Maybe the stage was too close to the baseline. Whatever it might be, you can close your eyes and picture that gym right now. Every team should be installing weird shit to give them the biggest advantage they can get.
More importantly, need to know if Fanta got in on the rescue mission. Imagine being stuck in an elevator and it's Fanta's broadcasting voice giving you a pep talk to get you out of there? I'm leaning towards him not helping strictly because FDU is just tied as I blog this. A Fanta pep talk is easily worth 5-6 points.
