Everything About That Baylor/Houston Game Was Awesome, With The Perfect Amount Of Dumb Shit To Get Us All Ready For March

I know everyone just wants the NCAA Tournament. I get it. When you have the greatest event in the world in your sport, you skip the foreplay and want to get to it. We've all been there before. But I have to talk about this game. It was awesome, right when we needed it to be. It's no secret the games going on early all sucked. No one gives a shit about Syracuse/ND or Indiana/Penn State. We needed Baylor/Houston to deliver.

It wasn't going to originally. I mean, shit, Houston was up 17. They are the best defensive team in the country. Jamal Shead has an argument for best point guard in the country. They just beat the hell out of you for 40 minutes. But then it happened and this is where you need to prep for March.

Right out of the gates to start the 2nd half, Baylor goes on a run. It felt like a little false hope because teams go on runs all the time. The key is always not to go on that run too early and run out of gas. Sound like mid-major teams in the NCAA Tournament? Yep, although Baylor is one of the 10-12 best teams in the country. I don't love future bets until I can see a bracket, but DraftKings has Baylor as +1200 to make a Final Four right now. That intrigues me. #DKPartner

Then we had it all. Baylor with a chance to take the lead with 4 seconds left, their first lead of the game! Brick at the line and this:

Get ready. This is going to happen to one of your teams. The half second late that just breaks your heart. We're all miserable, we all know that once that game goes to overtime you feel death knocking. That is until you see this:

College kids - still dumb! College basketball, where dumb shit happens, should really be the motto for the sport. But I fully believe this changed all of overtime. You don't comeback from that sort of moment. On top of that, people yelling at each other about jinxing Houston -2.5, you had the terrible camera angle like they are Sting in WCW from the rafters. Still cracks me up that's what Baylor decided to do in this new arena.

I can't believe people thought Houston would struggle in the Big 12. Lock them into a 1 seed. All I know is this was the exact sort of game to start getting us mentally prepped for March. Some of us have been here since October, others are joining after football. Either way, we needed a game like this.

PS: Such an absurd stat

They trailed for less than a minute this game.
