This Ridiculous Half Court Buzzer Beater By Nevada Is A Perfect Reminder That Late Night Mountain West Games Are Fucking Awesome
Last night was damn near perfect college basketball. You had buzzer beaters, fights, ejections, upsets and everyone bitching and moaning. But this? There's nothing like a halfcourt buzzer beater. It just hits a little different than a runner in the lane, a fadeaway, a tip in, whatever else you want. I think it's the moment you're watching and the extra second the ball is in the air from midcourt. You start to look at the trajectory and that gut feeling hits. You know it's good or not right away and then it happens.
But in the grand scheme of things this is the Mountain West at its finest. I'm telling you, we need to talk about this league more. If you're someone who is up late or just wanting to watch some basketball, the MWC is delivering. It's fucking insane out there. Last night you had this to go with the Nevada/Colorado State game:
You're looking at 6 teams possibly getting into the Tournament. You have a race between 5 teams for the regular season title. Boise State, Utah State, San Diego State, UNLV, Nevada, New Mexico and Colorado State are all legit. I sneaky love the New Mexico team because they just fly around and play fast. I know, I know. The MWC historically isn't great in the NCAA Tournament, but I don't care. The league is awesome.
Incredible buzzer beater by Lucas though. Get me to this conference tournament.
