Rick Pitino Isn't Bitter, He Just Thinks The Entire NCAA Rankings System Is Fraudulent And Should Never Be Spoken About Again. Not Bitter Though.

I gotta say, I wanted more from Rick Pitino. To not even be mentioned as a first four out is fucking egregious and we know Rick can rant with the best of them. But him doing this in front of some hilariously awful green screen and going on about how he's not bitter, he just thinks the NET is fraudulent and should never be mentioned again. That's growth. I hate it, but it's growth from Rick. I want him to unload on the committee, it might actually lead to change! 

I'll keep saying it but the fact we rely on 12 athletic directors to make right calls on at-large teams and seeding is fucking crazy. We're talking about the biggest event in college basketball, one of the biggest sporting events in the country and that's who we're relying on? Have 2-3 ADs there, fine. But then have people who do this for real and understand the game and understand what the hell they should be looking at. Somehow the people who make up BracketMatrix (not Lunardi, ranked 98th) do a better job with their brackets than the actual committee. 

This is how I know Pitino is fed up though (even if he won't say it). He starts going to bat for his son. He had to mention that New Mexico was good and didn't get a good seed. Just throwing jabs and body shots to the NCAA before the blow about the NET system. Now, I do agree the NET is seriously flawed, but it just comes down to who is on the committee. I'm just begging for people to not be AD's in the room and making decisions there. 

I really hope Pitino sleeps on it and delivers a real rant tomorrow. You're a legend in the coaching change! You can scream and start demanding change. We need you more than ever now, Rick. You're not at Iona, you're in the Big East. You can't let them win.
