Don't Blame Her One Bit: Virginia's AD Was Apparently Caught Liking Tweets About How Shitty The Team Was Last Night
Okay, so the tweets are now unliked but screenshots live forever. Let me tell you they are everywhere in the college basketball Twitter world right now too. I don't blame her! Virginia embarrassed the school, the Commonwealth and really the entire country last night. I don't even necessarily blame them. Everyone knew they were a dogshit team who didn't belong in the NCAA Tournament. I blame the committee. For whatever reason they decided to put Virginia on the bracket - kinda, the First Four bracket.
I said it last night and I'll say it again. There's not one justifiable reason that Virginia made the NCAA Tournament. Heading into last night they were 67th on KenPom - 19 spots behind the last at-large team. They had 2 quality wins - Florida and Texas A&M (who wasn't even at full strength). I mention the full strength thing because the committee chair held that AGAINST Seton Hall for their wins.
It's disgusting that Virginia was put in a standalone game for America to see. That game almost - almost - ruined the NCAA Tournament. This wasn't some scrappy team who won their conference tournament and snuck in that way. This wasn't some low-major getting their ass kicked by a power team. This was a team who won the 2019 national title, getting a bullshit at-large bid and having all of social media talk about how the college game sucks. It doesn't! Virginia just sucks. They have zero offense, they have minimal talent, they are slow, boring and stink. Not a great combo!
Virginia's AD needs to read everything being said and start RT'ing it and not hiding from it all. Make Tony Bennett coach some offense again. Sure they were slow in 2019 but they had NBA talent. That offense was actually good. But whatever the fuck Tony Bennett is doing now is basically torture. Still think the committee should be banned from college basketball for life after what they did to us.
