The Mayhem We Were Waiting For - Clemson Playing In The Elite Eight Is Why The NCAA Tournament Will Always Have The Most Chaos In Sports

I don't know man. I've been pretty vocal about Clemson just being a whatever team. Hell, I'm far from the only person to do it, pretty sure me and Titus did 20 minutes on it Sunday night. But here we are, they are in the Elite Eight and it's one of the more bizarre sounding statements I can say. This isn't even a knock on them. They were dogs in all 3 games as a 6 seed. They played three prolific offenses in New Mexico, Baylor and Arizona. None of it mattered. All three games they jumped out to a big lead, held on late and then sealed it. That's what they've done.

We'll talk about Arizona in a different blog. I promise this is going to be for Clemson. You win, you get the blog. This is just the second time ever Clemson has made the Elite Eight. They aren't Cinderella like FAU or St. Peter's or something like that. They are in the ACC! They were one of the first 2-3 teams left off a top-4 seed back in the early 16 reveal of the bracket.

And now? They get a rematch. They play either UNC or Bama, two teams they've already beat this year. So, yeah, Clemson in the Final Four I guess? All week we kept talking about how we never really had any mayhem this Tournament. Yeah we had Oakland and Yale. But the two biggest 'upsets' of the Sweet 16 were two ACC schools. Everything else chalk. Even more impressive - yeah I said impressive for Clemson - they did it with foul trouble. They did it with PJ Hall sitting for a good stretch in the second half.

There's the mayhem.
