Jets Trade For All-Pro Edge Haason Reddick As They Continue Fascinating Offseason
Jets world was sad this afternoon as the Mets started their 2024 season with a loss after getting just one (1) hit.
(Yes, I am assuming every Jets fan is a Mets fan. That's how God intends life to be.)
All that changed after this Adam Schefter tweet. All-Pro edge rusher Haason Reddick is now a NEW YORK JET.
There are two players that have had 10+ sacks over the past 4 seasons:
Myles Garrett
Haason Reddick
Always fun when your team picks up a big-time player, but I do not see that much of a difference between him and Bryce Huff, who the Jets lost to the Eagles just a few weeks ago. If anything, Bryce Huff may be a bit more valuable, considering his age and costing $10 million less.
The defense for Robert Saleh is looking like a unit that can make a run in the playoffs.
DE: Jermaine Johnson, John Franklin-Myers
DT: Quinnen Williams
DT: Javon Kinlaw, Solomon Thomas
DE: Haason Reddick, Will McDonald IV
LB: CJ Mosely
LB: Quincy Williams
DB: Sauce Gardner
DB: DJ Reed
S: Chuck Clark
S: Tony Adams
A second-year jump for Will McDonald would be huge for the Jets. You can't hit on every 1st round pick, but seeing a 15th pick (which a lot of people thought was a reach) still having backup snaps in his 2nd year is not great. There won't be a lot of attention on him when he comes into the game, which may allow him to take that jump that the Jets will need.
Anyways, good pickup by Joe Douglas. Reddick will be looking for a long-term contract soon. Will be interesting to see if it is signed before training camp.
