The Phillies may have blown a 2-0 series lead against Arizona and then came back home to lose both games at Citizens Bank Park in the NLCS. The Eagles may have had a historically dog shit collapse to end last season after going 1-6 in their last 7 games after starting the season 10-1, including another wild card loss to Tampa to deliver the final dagger. The Flyers are in the middle of an epic collapse themselves as they are doing everything in their power to piss away a trip to the playoffs. The Sixers are in the middle of a nice little 5-game win streak, but you know that collapse is just around the corner.

The fact of the matter right now is that it's been a rough year for Philly sports. There's been pain, there's been suffering, there's been frustration. But just when you think the city is down and out for the count…

Philly's own Dawn Staley cements her legacy as one of the all-time greats. Her 2nd national championship in 3 years, and South Carolina capped off an insane 39-0 season. One of the most historic teams in college basketball history, and it's all thanks to a woman from North Philly.

Because that's what this city does. We produce greatness. We foster excellence. There may be some spouts of adversity at times, such as the Flyers going 0-5-2 in their last 7 games while dropping out of playoff position and getting outscored 23-7 combined in those 5 losses. But that's what makes Philly so special. We battle through the adversity because we want it more. And when all 4 of the major teams in this city let us down like a sack of bricks, Dawn Staley is there to pick us right back up.

It would be easy for Philly to get cocky right now, but the city prides ourselves on remaining classy at all times. Who has it better than us right now? Nobody. That's who.
