Fernando Tatis Jr. And Don Orsillo Gave Us Our First "Holy Shit" Moment Of The Season

The most exciting player in baseball gave us our first "HOLY SHIT" moment of the season while you were sleeping last night. Scrolling through scores I saw the Cubs were up 8-0 and I figured the Padres were all tucked in for the night, so I decided to head to bed. Surely I wasn't going to miss any major comeback right? Wrong. Fernando Tatis Jr. had other plans, like hitting monster go-ahead homers to complete a comeback. The whole ballpark knew something was going to happen, Nando just does this kind of stuff. Padres need a big hit? He's your guy. 

And to the surprise of no one, Don Orsillo knocked this call out of the park. Everything about this scene was incredible. Fans going nuts, Fernando taking 495 minutes to run the bases, tossing his bat, the Cubs realizing they choked away an 8-0 lead, what a scene in San Diego. Watching Tatis watch the homer fly was the best too, he's having a great start to the season and helped deliver the Padres a much needed win. Can't start your week off getting smoked at home, so he decided to make the comeback complete with the 8th inning homer. 4th home run of the year for Tatis Jr as well, he's been the subject of a lot of talk recently but it seems like he's fully back, dialed in, ready to try and lead the Padres back to the playoffs. And if he's swinging it like this you're all in big trouble. 

I also feel like Don Orsillo was put on this earth strictly to call Tatis Jr. highlights, I know he had all that time in Boston but he just feels and sounds right being in San Diego. Another bag that the Red Sox fumbled.

And not only did he play well, Fernando looked great too. 20th anniversary of PetCo Park so he broke out these incredible Tony Gwynn themed cleats, what a nice throwback look and think it's safe to say he felt good playing in them. He may have to wear these cleats all the time if he's going to keep giving us fireworks like this. I'm fully here for a Fernando Tatis Jr. MVP type season, baseball would benefit from it. The most electric player in baseball, he seems to know when it's a big moment and always delivers. What a game, what a comeback, what a call. Flip that bat again, Nando!
