THE BOSTON COLLEGE EAGLES ARE HEADED TO THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

The Boston College Eagles are headed to the National Championship Game to face the Denver Pioneers on Sunday after a MASSIVE 4-0 win over the University of Michigan on Thursday night in St. Paul.

BC’s star power was on full display tonight, getting goals from Will Smith (SJS), Cutter Gauthier (ANA) and Gabe Perreault (NYR). Tough not to mention Ryan Leonard (WSH) as well. While he may not have added any goals he was a honey badger all game and was always in the mix and making things happen. I couldn’t be more jealous at the fact Washington Capitals fans get to watch this kid play for the next 15 years. Speaking of jealousy…the league is going to be pretty jealous watching Will Smith and Macklin Celebrini play together for the next decade in San Jose, and he showed that tonight.

After being snubbed for the Hobey Baker award last week, Will Smith was destined to have a monster weekend (if only someone saw this coming). Smith started the scoring for the Eagles less than two minutes into the first, and didn't take his foot off the pedal and the team followed suit. I’ll dive into a a blog deeper tomorrow, but the fact Will Smith led the NCAA in points and put together one of the best seasons in NCAA history and wasn’t named a Hobey Baker finalist is almost as ridiculous as BU not getting a single powerplay in Game 1 tonight.

Don’t even get me started about BC’s goalie, Jacob Fowler (MTL) . Fowler has been a brick wall for the Eagles all season, and tonight was no different. Michigan certainly put Fowler to the test.

Eagles vs Pios on Saturday night will be an absolute barn burner for the National title. The two teams have only played each other once this season, resulting in a 4-3 win for Denver so this should be an all timer. Whats better than this??
