The American Entertainment Industry Is Failing Us By Not Stealing This Skateboard Obstacle Course Show From Japan
I mean what are these network executives even doing? Netflix CEO asleep at the wheel? Viacom executives not give a shit anymore? How in the shit does this show exist in Japan and not a single one of these bastards have decided to steal it and bring it to American television?
It's like if you took MXC and married it with a live action version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. That's the greatest pitch you could ever come up with for a hit TV show. Think about how popular American Ninja Warrior is, and that's just a bunch of crossfit addicts doing parkour.
But you give us a skateboarding obstacle course that is hosted by Tony Hawk, and then get the guys from Jackass to do-design the obstacle courses with the dudes from American Ninja Warrior?
I don't know whether to be just angry or disappointed that Japan beat us to the punch on this one. We invented the XGames but we couldn't come up with this? Embarrassing. But that doesn't mean it's too late to rectify the situation. Just steal the idea, make it better, and throw it on a streaming platform for me to watch 7 episodes in a row at 3am after the baby wakes me up. And while we're at it, let's get a reboot of Tony Hawk's Underground 1 and 2.
