The Biggest Transfer In College Basketball Next Season Is Virginia Lacrosse Mutant Cole Kastner Taking His Talents To Stanford

Look at me, Reags. I'm the captain now. Hope you're ready for the Cardinal to bust the shit out of all your brackets next March while waltzing their way to the Final Four.

Cole Kastner has been one of the best defensemen in college lacrosse since he stepped foot on campus in Charlotesville. He helped lead the Cavs to a national championship as a freshman in 2021, was the ACC defenseman of the year in 2022, helped lead Virginia back to the Final Four last season, and will probably be a first team All-American this year. Moral of the story is that he's an absolute animal on the field. But somehow lacrosse might not even be his best sport.

Just for everyone keeping track at home, college lacrosse has already sent one player to the NBA this season in Pat Spencer. There's a damn good chance that Cole Kasnter follows directly in that path. He's a 6'7" freak of nature who can be the best defender in the game and can also run like the wind.

You got some guys in the NBA who can't play more than 20 minutes a night without needing load management for the next week. You're telling me there's not an NBA team out there who could use an athlete like Cole Kastner after he gets his game back under him at Stanford next season? If the Warriors know what's good for them, they'll go ahead and start a new dynasty with Cole Kastner and Pat Spencer. Maybe keep Steph around, too, considering he's a lax guy at heart.
