The NFL Putting Out A Somewhat Serious Statement About Tony Khan Getting Hit With A Piledriver On AEW Is Why Wrestling Rules The World

[NFL] - Khan, the Jags' chief football strategy officer and the founder, owner and booker of All Elite Wrestling, took a punch to the gut and a "Meltzerdriver" piledriver Wednesday night live on AEW Dynamite from Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida.

It's all part of an angle (professional wrestling storyline), of course, but it was shocking nonetheless as Tony Khan has never been physically involved in AEW to that extent and his father's appearance added more realism to the stunning end of the show.

As could be expected, Khan was protected well in the maneuver by the Bucks -- revered workers within the business for nearly two decades.

I can't stop laughing at a Jags fan who has no idea about wrestling reading this statement. The NFL tried their hardest to explain that Tony Khan isn't seriously injured and it's all part of a wrestling storyline. That's the beauty of it all. Last night this happened:

It's a great storyline. You have Jack Perry coming back, attacking Tony Khan, Young Bucks joining in and now this divide. It's perfect in the wrestling world. But now we need Tony Khan to sell it. We need Tony Khan to come out like this for the NFL Draft tonight.

Sell it, Tony! Sell it. I mean your dad came out last night to help the sell.

Tony sitting in the Jags war room in a full body cast is easily the funniest thing that can happen tonight. Wrestling rules the world. People - like myself - love it, no matter how old we get. It's great entertainment, like any other show you love. I still enjoy AEW, I know that's a hot topic, but you know what? I enjoy it. I want to see what happens with Omega coming back, this Tony Khan/Young Bucks storyline. But this isn't just about the wrestling. This is about how Tony Khan drafting while 'injured' would be the storyline of the NFL Draft. That's how you make waves when you're trying to compete with the WWE.

Hell, take it one step further. Shad should cut a promo after making a pick for the Jags. If he can show up to Daily's Place and check on Tony surely he can squeeze in a 30 second promo. Everyone loves screaming about the NFL script anyways, so what's 30 seconds in the Draft?
