Nobody Has Ever Cheated More Blatantly in Baseball History Than This Georgia Pitcher

Every pitcher that comes into a Major League Baseball game gets practically groped before he's allowed to take the mound but you can do this in plain sight in the SEC? This guy may as well have just walked out there with an "I Love Spider Tack" sign around his neck.

That pitcher is Georgia's Christian Mracna, who seems like he might have a bit of an affinity for sticky stuff. He's also seen a remarkable improvement in his numbers over his last several appearances.

Going from giving up four runs against Missouri to striking out six in two innings against the No. 1 team in the country is certainly a hell of an improvement. I wonder what mechanical change he made in the middle of the season to get those kinds of results seemingly out of nowhere.

Honestly, I don't really have a problem with the fact that this guy is obviously using some sort of tacky concoction; it's up to the umpires and Texas A&M to figure that out and call him on it. But I feel like I'm having my intelligence insulted when you're conspicuously applying it in plain sight and then not really being sly when going to it on the mound, either. Nobody in the A&M dugout catching onto that is kind of insane.

But whatever. When you give up 19 runs in the first game of a doubleheader — after going up 9-0 in the first inning, no less — I suppose you do whatever it takes to hold on for a win in the second contest.
