Draymond Green Did Not Waste His Opportunity To Return The Favor And Take His Own Shots At Jusuf Nurkic
Immediately after the Warriors season came to an end a few weeks ago and they ended up missing the playoff entirely, Jusuf Nurkic didn't wait long before he hopped on Twitter and trolled Draymond Green
Given their pretty public beef and the whole Draymond punching him in the face thing, a move like this was very predictable. These two love to subtweet each other so it's not exactly a surprise that Nurkic would take his shots given that his team actually made the playoffs and Draymond had to now watch from his couch.
Well, unfortunately for Nurkic, his team did not win a single game in the playoffs. Just as quickly as they made it, the Suns were eliminated
which means we all know what was coming next. It was only a matter of time before Draymond turned on his camera, hopped on his mic, and got his own shots in
I'm not sure if Draymond thought he cooked here, but am I crazy to think that this is kind of lame? Like, what's the burn here? Draymond played with Steph & Co and won 4 titles? Yes, he played a role in those championships, but they also don't win them without Steph/Klay/KD etc. So is the stance here that only players that have 4 rings can talk shit? It's not completely insane for a guy whom Draymond punched in the face to take his own shots when that guy's team gets eliminated. But because Nurkic doesn't have a ring, according to Draymond he's not allowed to take shots. That feels like it's not how things work.
Not only that, but talking shit like this when your own team missed the playoffs???? The fact that the Warriors were even in that position in the first place was largely due to Draymond's own actions! This is sort of like how when Klay would always throw up the 4 fingers (rings) whenever someone tried to talk shit. Congrats, not everyone gets to play with Steph and then have an in their prime KD come to join forces.
While you knew Draymond wasn't going to be able to resist taking his own shots given what happened last night, I wouldn't say he's won this beef, he wins this round over Nurkic or anything like that. His prior championships do not make him bulletproof, especially when he continues to do things that hurt his team and ultimately ends their season.
So what's worse? Nurkic taking some shots at the guy who punched him in the face after missing the playoffs, or a guy who didn't make the playoffs saying you can't talk shit when you don't help your team win, while at the same time, that person's actions were the reason his team missed the playoffs entirely?
If the Warriors had made the playoffs and were moving on, I feel like this video makes a lot more sense. But they didn't, so it loses a fair amount of juice to me. As shitty as you think Nurkic may be, at least he team actually made the dance. All that impact from Draymond did what? Got them to the lottery.
In the end, there are no winners in this beef. Only losers. Sure it's entertaining for us as fans to have another THIS LEAGUE!! moment, but at this point it just feels forced. Now I'm sure there will be another subtweet from Nurkic and around and around we'll go over the entire summer until these two teams play again.
