B's Get Dominated In Game 2 And We're Headed Back To Boston With A 1-1 Series

The Bruins and their defense failed to show up after the 1st period and Florida punched back with 6 unanswered goals to take Game 2.

FINAL: Florida 6, Boston 1

Quick news, notes and quotes:

- Jesper Boqvist slid back into the lineup after a one game absence. I think Lauko has to get into this series at some point and no better time than Game 3 back in Boston.

- Charlie Coyle got on the board with his first goal in the postseason to open the scoring. But it was alllll Panthers after that. Bruins came out hot and it seemed like the second the Panthers switched their lines up everything went downhill. Bruins allowed a goal with 0.3 seconds left in the 2nd that was a dagger. What's even more frustrating is that Marchand and Beecher both missed wide open nets in the 1st.

- Just uncharacteristically bad night for the defense. Forbort's failure to clear allowed Florida to tie the game with Stenlund with a tip all alone in front. McAvoy was coughing the puck up all ice. Had no stick for Florida's 2nd goal, and then screened Swayman for the 3rd. He was cut in the 2nd after a collision with the glass and was back and forth from the room. Just brutal turnovers tonight, complete Jekyll and Hyde from the defense from Game 1. Florida has a heavy forecheck and the Bruins had no answer for it tonight.

- While the defense was less than optimal, the offense once again went cold after the 1st period. Felt like fatigue set in a bit as the game went along for Boston.

- The Bruins have FIVE too many men on the ice penalties this postseason. The rest of the NHL has 4 COMBINED. Insanely undisciplined.

Just a laugh out loud funny scoresheet.

- Things got real scrappy towards the end of the game, whole lotta misconducts given out. Maroon and Cousins got tossed for whatever reason, and that didn't stop anything as chaos kept erupting after every whistle.

I absolutely love this leadership from Pastrnak, fighting Tkachuk after Montgomery allowed him too. That being said, glad he didn't break a hand or anything. But the Bruins have a wholllleee lot to be angry about heading back home.

- Jeremy Swayman let in more than 2 goals for the first time since April 9th. Not his fault though. B's couldn't get the puck out of their zone, he got pulled early in the 3rd when Florida made it 4-1. Montgomery talked to him when he got on the bench, presumably to tell him tonight wasn't his fault and that the net will be his Friday night in Boston.

- While ultimately the score wasn't what the Bruins wanted, I loved their fight until the end.

Ugly game. B's stopped playing after the 1st period. Fatigue set in. We've got a 1-1 series heading back to Boston. Can't get too high, can't get too low. Time to see how they respond in Game 3.

Gonna throw this on a loop until Friday night.
