The Celtics Didn't Need The Refs Help To Beat The Cavs Tonight, But They Certainly Got It
So there's no denying that the Cavs played really hard tonight, despite being without both Jarrett Allen and Donovan Mitchell. And there's also no denying that even if healthy, the Celtics are simply more talented than Cleveland. Take away our two best players and it was almost a certainty that Boston would win tonight. And then when you factor in that their role players (the refs) outplayed ours (Isaac Okoro 1-8 in 21 min) by giving them a distinct 24-7 free throw advantage, despite Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder being able to see that it should've been reversed, and there simply was no chance for Cleveland. That's right folks. I saw it with my own two eyes. Those refs fucking SUCKED the entire night and completely homered the game....for the visiting team.
ZERO FOULS in the 4th quarter.....? And we shot 7 free throws for the entire game? Including two technicals? Guys I hate that it's probably coming off with me looking like a whiny little baby here, but if you watched that game, there's no way you can deny that the refs favored Boston.
Now for this blog, I won't even talk about the entire series, where the Celtics have shot 30 more free throws than the Cavs. That can be explained by a multitude of different things such as style of play, aggressiveness, etc etc. For this blog, I'm specifically talking about tonight (24-7 advantage at the charity stripe), when they blatantly missed clear and obvious fouls to the point where Boston fans were even suggesting that Cavs fans storm the court.
That's all you should need to know about how poorly this game was officiating. But if you want specifics, which should I post first? How about this one where Jaylen Brown intentionally GRABBED the ankle of Max Strus and tripped him.
Coming back from review with a "No unnecessary contact was found" is at worst the dumbest thing anyone in this country has ever muttered, at worst it's a flat out lie. Draymond Green would go to prison if he did that, but we play on here in Cleveland because the beloved Celtics need all the help they can get to beat….the JV version of the Cavs?

F. I rate that call an F. And that might be too generous. That call might be worse than the grab!

And I could go on and on and on and on. All I'm saying is that the Celtics don't need this help. And I understand that the NBA wants the Boston vs. New York conference finals more than they've ever wanted anything in their life, but I think they'll get it organically. No need to manufacture the 1 seed beating the injury-ridden 4 seed. Let it happen on it's own.
Now the Cavs have to go back to Boston, down 3-1, and get their unhealthy asses whooped to end their season. Honestly, we should've just shook hands after the game tonight and agreed to end the series. Refs on their side or not, there's a 0% chance we go into Boston and win on Wednesday. Why go through the hassle of Game 5 when we can just start our Cancun trips early, put Donovan Mitchell on the trading block, and start having the fans mock draft Bronny to Cleveland in the first round to try and get our "lord and savior" to come home….for the 3rd time.
Yuck.
