The Cubs Using Shota Imanaga’s Interpreter To Skate The Mount Visit System Is Next Level Strategy

This is why I love doing the podcast. Justin out of nowhere starts talking about this situation that the Cubs got into, which will make you love Craig Counsell. To explain the situation really fast, there was an injury during a play and the Cubs didn't want to waste a mound visit by sending out the pitching coach so they ran out Shota's interpreter. It is a diabolical move because I wouldn't think anyone would catch this but the umpire ended seeing it and the interpreter was in no mans land. Like he isn't a coach he just relays the message and if Craig Counsell tells you to do something you can't not do it.

How can you tell his interpreter to stop going out there? What if he really needed to get some information to him? I feel like there are definitely some ways that they trick the umpire into letting him go out there and talk for the pitching coach. Shota should just start talking to the umpire in Japanese so the interpreter has to come out and he really is just telling him what the pitching coach is saying and ask how he is feeling. The umpire would never be able to figure out what he is saying and they can lie about it every single time. I might have to bring this to Justin Steele and have him bring it to the top. If you watch this episode you will see how cool Shota is and nobody was talking about him this free agency. There's a ton of funny inside the locker room stories so if you can give it a watch.
