Miss Argentina's 'Best Face' Awarded to 60-Year Old Legal Advisor Alejandra Marisa Rodríguez
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — A 60-year-old woman saw her dreams of becoming the oldest Miss Universe contestant in history melt away in a haze of sequins and selfies Saturday at Argentina’s annual beauty pageant.
Alejandra Marisa Rodríguez, a hospital legal adviser whose entry into the competition had been cheered as a triumph over ageism in a youth-obsessed world, fell short of the Miss Argentina crown. But she did take home the title of “best face,” one of several pageant categories including best evening gown, best swimsuit and most elegant.
Inspirational story out of Buenos Aires today. For years the Miss Universe pageant scene has been dominated by 10/10 bombshells in their early-to-mid 20's who when you pass on the street will break your neck and leave your penis in a plaster cast. The type of women who make men's eyes pop out of their skulls, and tongues fall to the floor like the Looney Tunes wolf when he sees Jessica Rabbit.
Nobody thought a 60-year old woman would have what it takes face/body-wise to compete in a hotness competition on the highest level. But Alejanda Marisa Rodriguez just turned the pageant world on it's head. She dominated the local pageant, and was crowned Miss Buenos Aires 2024 back in April. Then she went on to earn the title of "Best Face" in the entire country of Argentina.
Question: "Isn't rewarding Alejandra Marisa Rodriguez with 'Best Face' a little bit patronizing? I mean can the judges really look you in the eye and say that this 60-year old hospital legal advisor has a better face than the 22-year old "life coach" out of Santiago del Estero with 26M Instagram followers?" - You, probably
No, it's not. And it's offense for you to ask that. It actually makes perfect sense. Do you know how good of a face you have to have at 60-years old to even be considered for the crown of Miss Argentina? She barely even looks like she's had much work done. The fact that Alejandra's face at 60-years old still looks like a face, and not more like something that resembles a purge mask, is an incredible testament to her face quality.

Another Question: "So I'm supposed to believe that it's just a coincidence that in the first year Miss Universe raised the age cap from 28 to unlimited, that Buenos Aires decides to give the crown to a 60-year old? I'm supposed to believe that this isn't some PC, self-righteous, look-how-progressive-we-are bullshit that Miss Universe is doing so they can pat themselves on the back and say, 'Good for us. Beauty doesn't have an age limit. Beauty is beyond what's on the outside. Miss Buenos Aires should be more than just the hottest most penis breaking woman we can find.' Not that I don't agree with that sentiment. But if we start going down this road then it's going to change the competition entirely. How are you supposed to judge a 21-year old who wants to save the rainforest vs a 60+ year old lawyer with a lifetime's worth of accomplishments? It makes it a whole different contest. If the judges really want to start rewarding the most impressive, well-rounded woman, then the 50-60 year old range is going to dominate. Again, I know this type of thinking is a little outdated, and I'm not sure I'm even allowed to say this, but as a horny red-blooded American I kinda just want to see the hottest 18-28 year olds who can give the best answer to the question, 'How do you plan to save the world?' Yes. Yes it is. I do not agree with you. Although this is certainly going to put Miss Universe judges around the world in a blender, because how the fuck are they supposed to judge this thing now? When you're in the judging women business, it's significantly easier when you're comparing women of similar ages, with similar levels of life experience. Now the lid has been blown off this entire thing, there's no telling what this competition is going to look like 10 or 20 years from now. But that's not my problem. That's the judges problem. Time are changing, and they best get with the program. Better update your grading rubric guys. Don't mess around and get yourselves cancelled.
