Victor Wembanyama Waiting 3.5 Years To Dunk On An Internet Troll Shows He Possesses A Generational Level Of Pettiness

By now it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that Victor Wembanyama is a generational talent. A true 1 of 1 type of player who more than lived up to the hype in his first NBA season. All Rookie, All NBA Defense First Team (first rookie ever), ROY, and arguably the actual DPOY (which he's about to win a billion of moving forward). No matter how you want to slice it, Year 1 Wemby was incredible

But you know what? If we're going to mention his generational talents on the court, we should also mention his generational talent off the court. 

They say the greats can find motivation in anything, and I can't lie this is some elite pettiness from Wemby. Bookmarking something and waiting 3.5  years before you come back and bury a hater? That's incredible. The act alone is something that deserves praise, but the fact that it came after the year Wemby just had? To me that makes it even sweeter. By the very definition, Wemby went to the NBA and dominated grown men, right from the jump. There was no adjustment period, just dominance. 

So why does this matter? Well, I think most will agree that generally, we're all fucked when it comes to Wemby. If this is the worst he's ever going to be, that's bad news for every single fanbase outside of San Antonio. Shit, just think of what Wemby looks like 3 years from now when he's still years away from his NBA prime ages? The whole thing is terrifying.

But a move like this gives us another look under the hood. We get to see how Wemby is wired, and while I'm not going to do the VERY annoying thing and say "Looks like Wemby is MJ!" or "Looks like Wemby is Kobe!", what I will say is you know this dude has what I would assume to be dozens of bookmarks just like this. It's clear it fuels him, and he's petty enough to remember them all, even if it takes years. I would have loved to see what that person's reaction was when they saw their phone and realized Wemby buried him like that. It's easy to troll/give off takes when you never expect the athlete to clap back, and I thought Wemby's response was perfect. He wasn't a dick, he didn't take it too far, mostly because he didn't have too. The response (given his season) was perfect. 

So yeah, even if you already thought we were in trouble when it came to Wemby because of his generational talent, it looks like he's also bringing a generational level of pettiness to the table, which matters. 

As we know, the true icons and industry leaders have this trait, which tells me Wemby probably has a couple of Ace of Spades bottles ready and waiting
