Relatable: Watch Nelly Korda, The Best Women's Golfer In The World, Put 3 Balls In The Water And Score A 10 On The Par-3 12th At The US Open
You could make a case that Nelly Korda is the most dominant golfer in the world right now, even more than Scottie. She's won 6 Tournaments already this year, including 5 in a row. So there was no doubt that she'd be a heavy favorite heading into this week's US Open. That is until the 12th hole. A par-3 over water with a green that can just ruin your life. In a cruel twist of irony here's what she said earlier this week about the hole:
Annnddd that explains how the ball goes off the green and into the water to start. Look, we've all been there. I know we're not as good as Nelly Korda, we like to think after a par we have the game figured out. But this? This is something we've all seen, probably happened to us once before. You can't believe a ball went OB and what do we do? We panic. We lose our shit. We lose a couple more balls and tell our playing partners just to put us down for an 8. You know you didn't score an 8, everyone knows you didn't score an 8, but you tell people to put that on the card for handicap purposes or some other reason you try to explain.
And perhaps in even more relatable fashion, Korda hasn't bounced back:
Doesn't matter if you're the best golfer in the world, no one and I mean no one walks into Lancaster, Pennsylvania and has a great time.
