Great News: Elon Musk Says You Can Now Officially Distribute Porn On X As Long As You Put A "Content Warning" In Front Of It
Source - X -- previously known as Twitter -- has tweaked its rules ... now, formally allowing NSFW content to be posted on the site, even though it's low-key always been on there.
People have been sharing explicit porn on Elon Musk's social media platform for a while now since there were no rules against it. But, over the weekend, the site officially announced X-rated content is now allowed -- but with a few caveats.
According to their updated Adult Content Policy, X states, "You may share consensually produced and distributed adult nudity or sexual behavior, provided it's properly labeled and not prominently displayed."
While sites like Meta and IG have strict nudity/sexual content policies, X says they're still all about allowing sexual expression as they "believe in the autonomy of adults to engage with and create content that reflects their own beliefs, desires, and experiences, including those related to sexuality."
Listen, I'm all for safety when it comes to adult content. No, I'm not talking condoms, I'm talking making sure people are aware of what they're about to watch. Throw a warning in there. An extra click, if you will. No need to eliminate pornography completely, just make sure that when people are scrolling their timeline they don't accidentally stumble across a bukakke. Especially if kids are using the app.
Here's a screen grab of the updated rules from X...
Having said that, I'd like to have this rule applied to other types of content on X. For example, I don't wanna see politics on my timeline. Ever. Can I get a content warning every time people start bitching about Sleepy? What about Donnie? I'd also like to block everything that troll Karim tweets. And I understand that X is simply doing its due diligence to "keep the children safe", but at the end of the day nothing is going to change. People are going to post whatever they wanna post with or with out warning. That's the world we live in. If you don't like it, go to another website.
