From Singing Sweet Caroline In The Streets To Climbing Onto The Garden, Celtics Fans Had One Hell Of A Time Celebrating Banner 18
No, it still doesn't feel real. I'm just going to warn you now, this is only the beginning. There's going to be a whole lot of these blogs for the foreseeable future so you may as well get used to it. It's not often your favorite team wins the NBA title, sometimes it takes 16 years. So when it finally does happen? We're going to enjoy every last second of it and then some. Until this time next season, the Boston Celtics are the defending NBA Champions. What a sentence, what a life.
As you can see from the video above, the city seems to be pretty happy. Let's be very clear about something here as well. The Celtics now run this city. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown? They run Boston until further notice. Kings, legends, whatever you want to call it, that is what they are. The door was open for someone to step up, take the crown and fill the void left by Tom Brady and Jayson Tatum feels ready to be that guy.
But back to the video. While nothing brings me more joy than seeing the city of Boston celebrate a Celtics title, I have to be fully honest here. I don't love the "Sweet Caroline" song move. I know why it happens, I get it, but it's not exactly what I would go with at that moment. It actually kind or ruins things a tiny bit if I were to be completely honest with you. Fuck John Henry and everything he's done to the Sox these last few years. I don't want anything associated that dumpsterfire near my beloved Celtics, so part of me cringed a little bit hearing all those people sing that song. Maybe that makes me an asshole, but I don't think so.
Outside of that, it was pretty much what you expect at a time like this
in what was thankfully the end of the second longest title drought in Boston history
