There’s Absolutely Nothing Like Parade Day In The City Of Champions

At long last, we have arrived at Parade Day. A Boston tradition unlike any other, you could say we’ve had a few of these things since the turn of the century

Of all the parades we’ve been fortunate to experience, this one feels even more surreal than I expected. We all knew this day was coming, but it still hasn’t really set in that the Boston Celtics are NBA champions. Maybe it’s because I’m delirious after 3 straight days of injecting Celts Kool Aid into my veins but to me things don’t truly feel real until we see the duck boats. It’s no surprise the entire city is ready to party 2 hours before things even get started, what else do you expect on a Friday?

This is a moment we’ve been waiting 16 years for. Something that at times it was fair to wonder if it was ever going to actually happen. So many runs ending just short, all the pain, that’s what makes today so special. We all went through hell to get to this moment, and today we have made it out the other side as champions.

No more dreaming of what it would be like to see the Jays on a duck boat. No more wondering who is going to get the most hammered. No more praying Al Horford would get to have this moment.

They did it. And now it’s time to celebrate the shit out of one of the greatest teams in NBA history.

Buckle in, we’re going to be here all day.
