Joe Mazzulla Is Forever A Celtics Legend After Jumping Out Of His Duck Boat To Celebrate With Fans During The Parade

I said it the other night and I'll say it again. 

Joe Mazzulla is truly a man of the people. He is one of us.

How do we know that? Well, the other night it was taking the Larry O'Brien trophy all throughout the North end so Celtics fans could see it/touch it/take part in celebrating it. That alone made Joe a legend.

Fast forward to today's parade and all you have to do is watch this man jump out of a duck boat during the parade with the sole purpose of celebrating with the fans

I dunno, I've seen a lot of championship parades in my day and I can't really remember ever seeing this from a coach. Usually, everyone just stays on their bus/duck boat/etc and waves and screams and drinks. But again, Joe is a man of the people. He understands what this moment means to the 1.5 million people who showed up in the city today to honor the champs.

If we're being honest, of all the winners and validation that came as a result of this title, I'm not sure there is a bigger winner or someone who has more validation than Joe. He has proven to be, without a sliver of doubt, THE GUY. He is the prince that was promised. His basketball mind changed things forever, he's a quote machine, and he's the perfect type of psycho for this city to rally behind. Just watch him in these clips, that's not only a guy who gets it.

It's also such a Psycho Joe move to hop out of a duck boat while having a torn meniscus just so he can run around and hype everyone up. You'd think he would want to take it easy, but that would mean you don't know who Joe is. He might never get that meniscus fixed just so he can challenge himself and put himself through pain. 

I'm not sure about anyone else, but this entire day still doesn't feel real. Even now after the parade has ended, I still can't believe it. Everything we all could have possibly wanted or dreamed about has come true, and it's crazy to think that this might actually only be the beginning.

Now that everyone has officially gotten a taste of what winning a title in Boston feels like and looks like, the only thing left to do is come back this time next year for Banner 19.
