Passing Of The Torch: Matthew Tkachuk And Jayson Tatum Have Officially Stolen The Spotlight From Matthew Stafford And Clayton Kershaw As Champions Who Grew Up Together

It has been a while since we broke out the WILDMETER. But in this case, I think Big Cat says it best. When a fact or nugget gets talked about to a certain extent, it no longer becomes wild. This is what he had to say on today's episode of Pardon My Take...

For years, EVERYONE talked about how crazy it was that Matthew Stafford and Clayton Kershaw grew up together. And it was. Both are some of the best in the business at their sports. But then, the internet woke up one morning and decided that they were over this storyline and it was no longer wild.

Over the past few weeks (and years), Matthew Tkachuk of the Florida Panthers and Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics have taken over this storyline. The duo won a Stanley Cup Final and a NBA Title just one week apart after both attending Chaminade Prep in St. Louis when they were younger. How wild is that?!

Tens of thousands of people each day will learn about this fun nugget, but we are approaching that point where it will no longer be wild at all. Cherish the wild moments when they are fresh, folks. They will be gone before you know it.
