Rick Pitino Joined Pardon My Take On Kentucky Sports Radio With Nothing But Great Things To Say About The Wildcats Athletics Program

On today's Pardon My Take... THE ANNUAL KENTUCKY SPORTS RADIO TAKEOVER! Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter continue their tradition of holding down KSR for one day each year as Matt Jones enjoys his vacation (to many interesting places). There obviously has been a ton of headlines involving the UK athletics program over the last year, ranging from another historic loss in the NCAA Tournament, the exit of John Calipari, bringing in Mark Pope, and much more.

Our guys also introduced a PMT recurring guest during the shift who Kentucky fans know a thing or two about: Rick Pitino. The current St. John's Head Coach and former bench boss at both UK and Louisville called into KSR to talk all things Kentucky. If you recall, when Coach Pitino joined PMT during college basketball season, he did mention that he does regret leaving Kentucky...

Fast forward to today's KSR show, and Pitino continued to only say good things about UK...

This is very cool. You rarely see an active coach of a competing program actively helping another D-I program. But Pitino has been around for a very long time, and is generous with his words and his wallet when it comes to the Wildcats, despite leaving in 1997.

Also, we have this to look forward to (insert eyeballs emoji here)…

CBB season can't come soon enough.
