Alex Pereira BRUTALLY Knocks Out Jiri Prochazka In The UFC 303 Main Event

It took literally all night - but we finally got a big "HOLY SHIT" moment at UFC 303, and it came via Alex Pereira headkick.

Before we even get to the fight, though, I just have to acknowledge how intense and awesome this staredown was....

It was basically the same exact staredown they had in New York back in November, but for the rematch - it just felt even bigger/better. Big fight feel on a billion.

As for the fight itself, I'd say it went exactly how a lot of us thought it would, and played out very similarly to their first bout. It all stayed on the feet, Alex Pereira was clearly getting the better of Jiri Prochazka in their exchanges, and had more power - but Jiri didn't seem to respect that power very much. He got clipped a few times, badly at the end of the first, where he was almost KO'd....

….and then as soon as the second round started, Poaton summed that dark magic he's known for and unleashed a head kick from hell. Herb Dean shoulda stopped the fight immediately, in my opinion, but he allowed a few more ground-and-pound shots for good measure, and let Jiri go out on his shield this time. He was FUCKED UP and stumbling around like a drunk fan afterwards, though - probably took too many shots.

Tonight, the legend of Alex Pereira grew even more - and he teased a move up to heavyweight after this to attempt to become the UFC's first ever three-division champion, which would be awesome. Imagine an Aspinall/Pereira fight?! That would be incredible. It's insane what he's done in just a few short years with the company.

UFC 303 wasn't a great card overall, unfortunately, but that main event made it a whole lot better - and at least ensured we wouldn't be leaving with a bad taste in our mouths.
