'I Just Can't Wait To Drink Out Of It' - Xander Schauffele Had The Only Correct Thought Process After Getting Handed The Claret Jug
Drinking out of the Claret Jug is by no means new. It's a tradition as old as time now. We've seen guys like Rory use Jager, Cam Smith do research to see just how many beers can fit in it, Spieth brought it on a tour basically and Shane Lowry partied in Ireland with the Jug after Portrush. So we can add Xander Schauffele to the list. A man who will light up a cigar, make all of us 5'9" guys feel taller than normal and now a two-time major winner. Not too shabby.
It got me to thinking though like where the Claret Jug ranks on best trophies to drink out of. Think it's pretty clear the Stanley Cup is number 1, don't think it's even a debate for that spot. Perfect drinking trophy.
In terms of golf you have 3 to drink out of - the Wanamaker, the Claret Jug and the US Open trophy.
Think I gotta go Claret Jug, US Open and then Wanamaker. I don't want some big bulky cup, give me a nice one to hold and drink my beer out of. Really just shows that more sports needs trophies for guys to drink out of. It's the go-to celebration. Everyone wants a beer after winning something, give them the trophy to drink out of.
Love that Xander won another one though. Dude is so good, had 12 top-10s in majors before finally winning the PGA earlier this year. Need to know what his dad picked to drink though. That's the key. You're in Scotland, gotta go with a quality beer for the trophy.
