Reason 57 Why A Pool Is Better Than A Beach ... Dragonflies Swarm Rhode Island Beach
NY Post- Freaky footage captured a swarm of dragonflies turning a Rhode Island beach into a scene akin to a biblical plague over the weekend.
The seemingly endless swarm of dragonflies descended on Misquamicut Beach in Westerly on Saturday, when a cloud of the insects started buzzing across the beach, under umbrellas and chairs, past faces and between legs.
“I was enjoying a nice day at Misquamicut State Beach until we endured a dragonfly apocalypse,” witness Stephanie Martin told WCVB.
Others stood and laughed at the incredible scene. Some kids screamed, while others swatted away at the passing bugs with shovels and water pails.
Another witness, Richard Sontag, called the incident an “invasion.”
I'm not trying for a hot take here but this is why a pool beats a beach everyday and twice on Sunday. Don't get me wrong the beach has some great features, and if we're being honest nothing beats ocean water. The waves, the bouncing around it does to you, the feel it can give you when you are hungover and dip in. It's tremendous. However it also brings a lot of bullshit. Sand, wind, rising tides just to name a few. Now we can add dragonflies to that list. Just a nightmare of a scene here.
Give me a pool everyday. At a pool you are never going to have to wash off sand, you never have to chase down an umbrella blowing in the wind and you will never be bombarded by dragonflies. Also at a pool you can stay in all day, sit on a float and never be bothered. At the ocean you drift away, the waves take a toll on your body etc. Anyone who preferred a beach over a pool before this video is a moron, and anyone who still prefers the beach over the pool is a certified dope. Pool everyday.
