Eminem Said He "Invented The Slim Shady Character Because His Life Was So Fucked Up. And It Only Made Shit Worse" In New Sit Down Interview With Himself

Detroit Free Press- In a novel, AI-assisted video released Tuesday, Eminem engages in a 12-minute verbal showdown with his Slim Shady persona — and gets the best of his old alter ego.

“The Face-Off,” produced by the technology company Metaphysic for Complex music magazine, pits modern-day Eminem against a Slim Shady avatar created using archival visual and audio footage, with dyed blond hair, reedy voice and all.

The clip reinforces the theme at the heart of the Detroit rapper’s recent chart-topping album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)”: He has embraced a different artistic approach now, moving beyond the vicious, pill-popping, celebrity-trash-talking character he deployed on record back in the day.

This was a pretty amusing "interview" or conversation between Eminem and his alter ego Slim Shady. But it also gave us a rare glimpse into his true feelings-

"I invented you because my life was f---ed up. My music was going nowhere and I was broke. You didn’t fix anything. You actually made that shit worse," he continued. "You’re the reason I had to self-medicate." Because of you I almost lost my fucking career, my fucking family, my life." He concluded, "Life’s been great since you’ve been gone."

Sad stuff.

There were some amusing quips like the following that I want to credit Marshall with rather that chalk up to A.I.. I refuse to belive chatgpt is worth a shit (yet), or capable of sarcasm or dark humor.

There were also some Taylor Swift jokes

And fat jokes

He/they paid tribute to Paul Rudd

And Eminem finally stated publicly that "Relapse is a "classic" album".

For everybody who was wondering (like me) why Eminem seemed to hold back somehwhat on The Death of Slim Shady, Slim also called Marshall to task and we got a pretty legitimate explanation when Shady urged him to get back to the politically incorrect lane he used to occupy.

“Look man, I’ve grown up, bro,” Eminem tells Shady. “My fanbase has grown up. The world’s changed. People are way more sensitive now. Every other week on TikTok, Gen Z discovers you on Monday and cancels me on Tuesday.”
