The Offensive Tackle needy Buccaneers were very fortunate that in the 2020 Draft, the best Offensive Tackle in that class fell to them in the teens. Bucs GM Jason Licht traded up from #14 to #13 to ensure he got his guy in Iowa's Tristan Wirfs.

Wirfs was dominant from his first game.

He made key block after key block, even helping send the Bucs to the Super Bowl with this awesome pull.

The Bucs suddenly sturdy Offensive Line helped protect Tom Brady all year and it ended with a Super Bowl victory.

Wirfs has continued to dominate over the years and this past season even switched from Right Tackle to Left Tackle with seemingly no drop off.

And while he was at Training Camp, he was electing not to participate in the full contact drills as he was on the field when Super Bowl winning Center Ryan Jensen got his knee basically destroyed in a career-ending injury during camp. He was entering the last year of his deal and wanted to be smart about his future. So this morning, the Bucs made Wirfs the highest paid Offensive Lineman in NFL history.

In addition to congratulations and well earned, I've only got one more thing to say about the matter!
