Scottie Scheffler Tearing Up During The National Anthem After Winning Gold Will Give You Goosebumps

Wow.

Scottie Scheffler has won $28,148,691 in 2024, including putting on a Green Jacket at Augusta. He's won countless more millions, another Green Jacket, and even won the Ryder Cup.

But have you ever seen emotion like this on his face?

It just means more when it comes to the Olympics, and representing your country. Look, if you know me, you have either seen my tweets and unfollowed me, or taken notice, to the fact I fucking love the Olympic Games. There's nothing like it in the world, even compared to stuff like the World Cup or Ryder Cup.

For two weeks, every four years, purses & money are put aside, and country pride is what you compete for, alongside athletes from the wildest, most random sports.

On the same day multi-millionaire Scottie Scheffler won Gold in Golf, Kristen Faulkner, a former investment banker turned pro-cycler, won Gold in the Women's Cycling Road Race, all while Brady Ellison, a humble outdoorsman from Montana, competed for his fifth Olympics archery medal. Next week, LeBron James & Kevin Durant might win another Gold Medal on the same day someone wins Gold in Taekwondo and Weightlifting.

While the difference in celebrity might be huge, on those days, they all compete for the same thing: Gold Medal, and to hear their country's national anthem.

See Scheffler tear up gave me goose bumps as he watched the Stars & Stripes raised as the Star-Spangled Banner boomed out over the speakers. This all just means so much more than money and the awards of normal competition.

Fuck yes. Go Team USA.

SIDE NOTE: How great has Olympic Golf been? The Rio 2016 Olympics had an amazing finish with its debut, Tokyo 2020 wasn't great due to the COVID issues (Xander Schauffele still won a great Gold), but Paris 2024 saw almost all of the biggest golf names in the world competing on the final day for Gold. The Los Angeles 2028 Olympics have Golf at Riviera Country Club, and it will be amazing.
