Brandon Marsh Checks In With One Of The Most Batshit Lucky Catches Your Eyes Will Ever See
Um…how??? There's no way in this hell or the next that the ball simply landed in Marsh's glove. Nope. Don't believe it. Didn't happen. But…it did. From Benny The Jet's bat to Small's glove it someway, somehow found the mitt. Brandon Marsh absolutely loses sight of the ball in the sun, makes the catch, and wisely thanks the Almighty by pointing to the sky like James Thrash after every 4-yard catch on a 3rd and 10 (IFKYK). One of the worst feelings for an OF in The Show has gotta be losing one in the sun or lights. It's usually a can of corn pop up any Little Leaguer could make but you're completely helpless with all hope resting in gravity and/or God. But it amazingly worked out. Seriously tho, that stroke of batshit grace happened when it was only 1-0 in the 7th with nobody out in a game the Phillies DESPERATELY needed a win.. Them baseball Gods must be crazy.
Oh - Go Phils! We back, baby! Maybe! Zack Wheeler follows up 6 straight Fightins losses (and a bullpen game) to give the Phillies 8 shutout, 2-hit innings for the W. Cal Raleigh roped a double off the wall in the first inning and then the Mariners only got 1 runner in scoring position the rest of the game. That's what we call bump dominance usually only seen in Wall St. bathrooms during the Reagan administration. Also, Bryce Harper is hopefully BACK after going 3 for 4 with a dinger and 2 RBI's.
For the most part, everybody chipped in today. Schwarber started it off with a a leadoff dong and Bryson Stott went deep, as well.. Sir Alec Bohm even followed up Bryce's moonshot to go back to back.
Good times. LOLMets lost. Braves got shut out at home 7-0 by some shitty fish. Solid day all around. We're onto LA. Go Phils.
