Draymond Green Did Not Waste His Opportunity To Throw Some Shots At Rudy Gobert After He Was Benched By France

It's not exactly ground breaking news that Draymond Green despises Rudy Gobert with a passion. Their beef is well documented and has been going strong for years now ranging from subtweeting, talking shit on podcasts, to full on choke holds

We've reached the point that if anything happens involving Rudy Gobert, whether it's for the Wolves or Team France, we all know what Draymond's stance is going to be

So it should also come as no surprise that coming off France's decision to remove Rudy Gobert from the starting lineup yesterday ahead of their showdown (and upset) of Canada, it was only a matter of time before Draymond fired up his camera and podcast equipment to weigh in. No chance in hell he was going to pass up this opportunity to throw shade and keep this beef going, and that's exactly what happened

While I don't always agree with Draymond Green, at least you can't say he's inconsistent. When there's an opportunity to hate on Rudy Gobert, Draymond will always step up to the plate. Plus, he also earned some points with me after his Steve Kerr rant

Now to the coach of France's credit, swapping Gobert for Yabu is what essentially won them this game. Yabu was incredible and completely had his way with Team Canada. Sure it opens up Rudy Gobert to be dragged on the internet and for Draymond to then get his shots in, but a win is a win is a win. Unlike when Steve Kerr tried to hide behind the "matchups" excuse for not playing Jayson Tatum who is quite literally matchup-proof, at least this one you could theoretically understand. 

I will disagree slightly with Draymond though. He said it's crazy to be taken out of the lineup as an NBA player on any other team but Team USA, and I disagree. Steve Kerr giving DNP-CDs on Team USA is still very crazy and frankly inexcusable. Especially when they're kicking the shit out of someone by 25+ points, but we've gone over that enough these last few weeks. 

It'll be interesting to see what Gobert's role is when France goes up against Germany who has much more size than Canada, and something tells me if they win and Gobert plays well and makes an impact, we won't be getting a Draymond podcast segment about it. 

But at the end of the day, that's why Draymond is a generational hater when it comes to Rudy Gobert, and if you think this is the last of their beef, don't kid yourself. This is going to exist forever, even after Draymond retires from the NBA. All you had to do is watch him for two seconds on TNT during the Wolves playoff run, the man simply cannot help himself.
