"I Want Blood" - Jaylen Brown Sounds More Than Ready To Destroy Everything In His Path This Upcoming Season

By pretty much all accounts, the 2023-24 NBA season was the best season of Jaylen Brown's basketball career. It was the culmination of 8 long years of ups and downs, resulting in some of the most dominant basketball we've ever seen since he first arrived in 2016.

And yet, despite something that was right in front of everyone's faces, he for whatever reason kept finding himself on the wrong side of the basketball discourse. The beauty of a player like Jaylen is that instead of letting that stuff get in the way, he used it as fuel. All you have to do is look at his NBA championship winning playoff run.

It all started after one of the best on ball and off ball defensive seasons of Jaylen's career, where he was willingly taking the toughest assignment every single night, only to be snubbed from any All NBA Defensive team. As soon as those teams were announced and Jaylen found himself on the outside looking in, he immediately responded with an insane two-way performance in Game 1 of the ECF

Little did we know this was only the beginning. Later in that series, we learned who made the three All NBA teams, none of which included Jaylen Brown. This was a snub even more shocking than the All NBA Defense decision, and the second it happened we all knew what was coming

An immediate 40 bomb.

Here's the thing about Jaylen. Not only is he going to use these slights and snubs as motivations, but he's going to waste no time showing you how stupid they are. After those two performances, we then saw him wrap things up with an ECF and Finals MVP. One would have thought that was going to be the end of playing around with Jaylen Brown's name, but then this guy/Nike bullshit happened

Grant Hill and Team USA didn't only snub Jaylen once from their roster, they did it twice. Grant Hill then went on a publicity tour claiming Jaylen Brown was a conspiracy theorist, which as you can imagine, obviously didn't go over too well.

As fans, we were all sitting back smiling because we knew what this was doing. This was fueling a fire that was going to give us an even better version of Jaylen Brown, which coming off a title and the run he just completed is a pretty terrifying thought. If you're someone who was hoping for some extra motivation for the Celts title defense, well there is good news.

We have it

Hell yes. It's not uncommon for teams who just won the title to take their foot off the gas a little bit the next season. It happens all the time and is partly why we haven't had a repeat champion in the last 6 years. Guys get complacent, sometimes they suffer from the "disease of more," or they aren't quite as focused for whatever reason.

Something tells me that is not going to be a problem with either Jaylen Brown or Jayson Tatum after everything that's happened to each this summer, but most notably Jaylen. I'm getting giddy just imagining what an "out for blood" version of Jaylen even looks like considering how good the version we just watched was. I mean, the man is on a different type of mission this summer

and he clearly has the mentality to match. Given how tough repeating is and how much of a target is going to be on the Celts back every single night, there's nothing better than seeing the two best players on your team be extremely motivated and ready for an ultimate Fuck You Tour Round 2 after just completing arguably one of the best NBA seasons in history.

At this point, all we as fans can do is say thank you. Thank you to the All NBA Defensive and All NBA Team voters. Thank you to those bozos Grant Hill and Steve Kerr. Thank you to Nike. You have all provided just the type of motivation the defending champs are going to need to reach the top of the mountain once again.

Now they're out for blood (Jaylen's words not mine), so you may as well start praying.
