Hardy Loves Watches, Creed, and Nickelback

Last month I got the opportunity to sit down with HARDY at the Faster Horses Music Festival in Brooklyn, Michigan - which by the way, is a hell of a time. I can't recommend it enough. Nick Fasoli and I drove up there on Sunday to interview HARDY and Riley Green and after arriving and hanging out all day we made a decision next year we are going for the entire weekend. 

HARDY has got a story man. Born and raised in small-town Mississippi, this guy's love for music runs deep - his dad's the one to thank for that. Started writing songs way back in high school, and that passion took him all the way to Nashville, chasing the dream.

He blew up first as a songwriter. Penning hits for some serious country heavyweights: Florida Georgia Line, Blake Shelton, you name it. His own sound? It's a wild ride. He comes from hard rock roots, and it's evident in his and his band's look and sound. 

(During our interview we discussed his early influences and bands and artists he still loves - Kid Rock, Creed, Nickelback, just to name a few).

Sure he's technically "country", but his style is completely his own, and he even throws in some shades of hip-hop, and even some grit you wouldn't expect. His lyrics are raw, honest, the kind that hit you right in the gut.

Aside from the dozens of hit songs he has written for other artists, he's got mixtapes, and albums of his own, the whole deal. And chart topping hit songs like "One Beer", 

"Give Heaven Some Hell", 

"Wait in the Truck".

and his newest collab, a standout track from Post Malone's new album, "Hide My Gun.

As for his personal life, He keeps it on the down-low, which I respect. Married guy, loves the outdoors… pretty much what you'd expect from a Mississippi boy.

He recently launched his own beer, "Outlaw", which is very fitting for a guy with so many song titles with his favorite drink in it. 

This was one of those interviews that flew by, and if his tour manager hadn't come and waved us down behind the camera that he had to hurry to get ready to go on stage, I could have sat there and talked to him for an hour. Definitely a great interview to check out up above.
